I love a smoked bluefish recipe. This is one of my favorite smoked Bluefish recipes..try it! If you don’t have a smoker bluefish can be pan fried, broiled, baked or even sautéed.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole bluefish, gutted and scaled (about 2-3 lbs)
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons black peppercorns, crushed
- 2 tablespoons coriander seeds, crushed
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- Wood chips for smoking (alder or hickory recommended)
Preparation Instructions:
1: Rinse the bluefish and pat it dry with paper towels.
2: In a small bowl, mix together the kosher salt, brown sugar, black peppercorns, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to make a dry rub.
3: Sprinkle the dry rub all over the bluefish, making sure to coat it evenly on all sides.
4: Place the bluefish in a large plastic bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the flavors to penetrate the fish.
