This is The Best Montauk Bass Blitz Captured by Drone in Full HD Video.
It is Autumn, and The Montauk Fall Run Is in full swing. I always go to Montauk Point in October and witness the magnificent Striped Bass Fall Run, Here I witness schools of crashing Striped Bass Boil the Ocean while fisherman from boat and shore cast into the blitzing fish.
Drones are now a common tool in a modern day captain’s tackle box. Drones capture footage never before able to find other than via airplane or helicopter. For offshore trips you cannot beat the ability to spot fish miles away. You can spot birds, baitfish, or crashing predators feeding miles from the fishing boat. Dual Station boats equipped with Tuna Towers are not necessary any more as drones are able to be launched, flown and have the footage transmitted in real-time right to the captain or mates which provides an advantage never before available.
Sometimes you are lucky enough to be part of a Bass Blitz where the Ocean Boils and fish are crashing the bait. Fisherman on boats will get dangerously close to the rocky Montauk shore to cast into these huge schools of Striped Bass, while Surf Casters hop over and onto the rocks and beaches casting into the shear pandemonium.
The footage was captured in Full HD from the Mavic 2 Zoom Drone. The Bass were so thick from under the Lighthouse at the base of the Boulders across to the North Side of the point.
The Charter Captains had happy customers, and Surf casters rewarded.
Truly Magnificent!!!
