This Year for the Super Bowl one of the snacks I made were Dry Rubbed Spicy Riblets
In an effort to eat healthier, we picked up an Air Fryer and what a great kitchen tool it has proven to be. It uses hot air to fry foods, we said good bye to frying foods by submerge in hot cooking oil. I can say hands down that Air Fryers work great, the hot air cooks your food evenly, quickly and sweats out the grease from your food, by rendering out the grease the food prepared is healthier for you.
The Air Fryer has several presets that when selected automatically sets the temperature and time to prepare the food you selected. As with any cooking appliance it is important to be very diligent when cooking your food for the first time as some units cook food differently. For the Riblets I set the Air Fryer to the Rib Pre-Setting and actually reduce the temp from 360 to 330 degrees and adjusted the time which for the ribs automatically was set for 15 minutes, and and I adjusted the time for 7 minutes on Each Side.
To prep the Air Fryer basket all you have to do is spray a light glaze of Olive Oil in the basket, and space the Seasoned Dry Rub Ribs with a light coat of atomized olive oil. When done the ribs are fully cooked, and about 50% of the fat is rendered and collected in the lower tray. The Rib meat is so tender and delicious that the meat falls off the bone, So good!!
Recipe/Directions: Dry Rub Seasoning Ingredients are placed inside a zip lock plastic bag, riblets are lightly coated with atomized olive oil and placed inside bag with seasoning and shaken vigorously to evenly coat the ribs with the dry rub seasoning. Place Ribs in air frying basket spaced and cooked for 7 min on each side at 330 degrees that’s it.
Ingredients
1 packet of Ribs about 6-7 pieces
Paprika, 3 table spoons
Cayenne Pepper, 1 table spoon
Ground Cumin, 1 table spoon
Garlic Powder, 3/4 teaspoon
Italian Herb Seasoning, 2 table spoons
Chives or Onion Powder, 2 table spoons or (To taste)
Place Riblets in bag, Shake and place in Air Fryer.
That is it. Super Easy and So Delicious. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Air Fryers render the fat in the foods it cooks, foods you cook will be healthier since they cut the grease and fat, you will see how the unit collects the fat in the bottom tray. I would also recommend that whatever unit you purchase, always insure you spray the basket with olive oil spray (just a glaze) your food will be tastier, and the basket will be easier to clean. I always wash the unit by hand and use a soap like Dawn which will breakdown the oils and grease and make cleaning the unit very easy. Compared to other units in this size class, this one proves to be a great value. If you cook for more than one you will want to get a larger capacity basket like this one.
